To become an umpire in the area, you should have your IHSA Certification. The better pay, better games and career start at the clinic.
Through the clinic and local association meetings, you will network with umpires, learn the mechanics and rules of the sport.
Eat baseball games. The first couple seasons, you need to umpire games and apply your skills be a game manager and work with your mentor towards your goals.
